The Los Angeles city Department of Airports today plans to present its proposals on expanding and upgrading LAX passenger and air cargo facilities during a symposium in downtown Los Angeles. Members of the local import/export community are expected to attend to hear the department’s executive director Lydia Kennard discuss specifics of the plan. The symposium includes a panel discussion on what airport expansion might mean for local businesses. Many businesses and residents surrounding LAX are worried about the impact of any expansion. The event has been scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. For more information, contact: (213) 489-3989.
