Senator Setting Up Shop on Sidewalk

VENTURA — As he has done throughout his 18 years in office, state lawmaker Jack O’Connell on Friday morning will unfold a card table and briefly become a sidewalk senator.
Constituents can express their concerns with O’Connell from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m., at the corner of California and East Main streets in downtown Ventura.
O’Connell (D-San Luis Obispo) said he enjoys the opportunity to casually meet the men and women of his district and discuss issues he can take back to Sacramento.
His senatorial district covers San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties and a portion of Ventura County, including Ventura, Santa Paula and Ojai. O’Connell’s local office is at 89 S. California St., Ventura.
