A jovial Rev. Thomas McIntyre, or “Father Mac,” celebrated the 50th anniversary of his priesthood Sunday with friends and his St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church parishioners.
“I’m happy to be here. I love Laguna Beach and the people,” McIntyre said.
McIntyre, who lives in a house adjacent to St. Catherine with two other priests, was born in Chicago in 1919. He was ordained at St. Mary’s Seminary in Perryville, Mo., when he was 30.
McIntyre has been with St. Catherine, which has about 1,300 members, off and on for 40 years.
