All-Star games are important for allowing the best players to get a chance to play with each other and they’re important for showcasing the talent. For me, they were a lot of fun. I got to play with guys that were my strong rivals. I got to know them and I got to work with them on the field.

I think all-star games, in general, are pretty important because it gives everyone a final honor. It’s my final high school game, and I get to play with other all-stars. It’s exciting, but there really isn’t a competition because you’re playing with a bunch of people that all the coaches think are just as good as you are, so you don’t feel like you have to show off. It’s a fun event.

If I was still playing softball, I don’t think it would be that important for me to play, but it would represent some closure on my senior year in high school. If I didn’t play in the all-star game, it wouldn’t be something that I would be hurt by. Softball is just a game--it’s not anything to get upset over.

All-star games are important because you’re playing with the girls you’ve played with for four years, and you already know them or know of them. You get to play as one, and you get to put your talents together, which makes it even more fun. It’s about competition, but it’s about friends too. It’s a nice way to end a career. It gives you a good honor, and it’s good to know there’s something else after the season ends. It gives us one last chance. And when you lose, it’s not really about losing. It was a nice experience. It’s not all about winning. It’s kind of cool.

The all-star games are great for entertainment but do not represent the best players in the sport. It is strictly a popularity contest and is misleading the general public.
