The Lakers brought a slightly shorter streak and a much stronger game into their second encounter with the Pacers. O’Neal had 31 points and 15 rebounds as the Lakers never even let the Pacers sniff a victory, jumping out to a 28-12 lead and never looking back. Kobe Bryant had 22 points, seven assists, five rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. Miller scored 22 points for Indiana. The Lakers extended their lead to 56-39 at the half behind 12 second-quarter points from Robert Horry. The Lakers held a whopping 56-34 advantage in points in the paint and a 50-39 rebounding edge.
