Eminem Arrested: Rapper Eminem was among four people arrested outside a Detroit-area bar after a crowd disturbance early Sunday and could be charged today with carrying a concealed weapon, the Macomb County prosecutor’s office said Monday. Prosecutor Carl Marlinga said two of the four arrested in Warren, Mich.--including Eminem’s wife, Kim--were arraigned Monday on charges of disturbing the peace. Marlinga expects to announce a decision today regarding any charges against Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers. Carrying a concealed weapon is a felony that could result in a five-year sentence. Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP” entered the nation’s album charts at No. 1 last week after selling more than 1.7 million copies during its first week in stores.
FILM
In at Outfest: “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” a documentary about the former queen of religious broadcasting that proved a hit at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, will open Los Angeles’ Outfest 2000 gay and lesbian film festival on July 6. “The Broken Hearts Club,” a romantic comedy starring Timothy Olyphant and former “Lois & Clark” lead Dean Cain, will close it on July 17. The Fenton Bailey-Randy Barbato documentary about Tammy Faye Bakker Messner had its world premiere at Sundance in January, where its giddy subject, when asked why God had placed so many obstacles in her path, cracked, “he hates me.” Writer-director Greg Berlanti’s “Broken Hearts Club,” about friends on a gay softball team, features such supporting players as “Frasier” father John Mahoney and “Big Momma’s House” star Nia Long. The 18th annual Outfest will feature 204 films from 23 countries, screened at six Los Angeles sites. The full schedule will be announced in about two weeks, and tickets go on sale June 17. TELEVISION
Tony Tune-In: About 8.5 million people watched Sunday’s Tony Awards telecast on CBS, according to preliminary estimates provided by Nielsen Media Research. That audience reflects roughly an 8% decline compared to a year ago, with the Tonys drawing less than half the audience that viewed ABC’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”

CBS Orders: CBS has ordered additional episodes of its first-year comedy “Ladies Man,” starring Alfred Molina, as a midseason backup. The network has also picked up “Kiss Me, Guido,” a sitcom based on the independent film about mismatched roommates, one of them gay. Jason Bateman and Danny Nucci star.
POETRY
Voices Unite: A poetry festival intended to get Los Angeles’ diverse communities to listen to one another opens today with readings in Leimert Park. Organized by Beyond Baroque Literary/Arts Center, the World Beyond Poetry Festival continues daily through Sunday, with scheduled appearances by such writers as Richard Montoya, Velina Hasu Houston, Amiri Baraka and Sonny Barger, introduced by Dennis Hopper. Tonight’s events begin at 7:30 with poets from different communities--including Marisela Norte and Frank Rios--reading poems round-robin style at World Stage, 4344 Degnan Blvd. Events continue at venues in Venice, Elysian Park, Boyle Heights, the Temple/Beverly corridor and Little Tokyo. All are free. For the full schedule, call (310) 822-3006.
MUSIC
Country Scuffle: An attorney for country music star Tim McGraw’s band says the singer’s arrest for allegedly attacking deputies near Buffalo, N.Y., Saturday night was a “misunderstanding” and doesn’t think “these charges will stick at all.” After their headlining appearances at the George Strait Country Music Festival, McGraw and fellow country music singer Kenny Chesney were arrested when Chesney rode away with a deputy’s horse and McGraw attacked deputies who tried to corral him, the Erie County sheriff’s office said. “They only thought they had permission to ride the horse,” said Tom Eoannou, the band’s attorney. “It’s a clear misunderstanding.” McGraw, 33, was freed on $2,500 bail after he was charged with second-degree assault, obstructing governmental administration, menacing and resisting arrest. Chesney, 32, was charged with disorderly conduct and freed on $100 bail.
