To qualify, they must pick up a nomination form in the city clerk’s office and obtain the signatures of at least 20 but no more than 30 registered voters in the city who support their nomination. Deadline for returning the form is Aug. 11.
Candidates must pay a $25 nonrefundable filing fee when returning their form. There will be an additional cost of about $1,000 for those who wish to file a candidate’s statement to appear in the voters’ pamphlet.
