Riverside Woodcrest Christian 5, Carpinteria 2--Joel Schelling (11-1) gave up nine hits and struck out 11 to lead Woodcrest Christian (22-6-1) to the Division V title at Blair Field.
It was the first championship in three title-game appearances for the Royals.
Josh Valencia was two for four and drove in a run, and Jared Lambert was two for two and scored a run for Woodcrest Christian, which was making its first championship game appearance since 1996.
Carpinteria, which made five errors, finished 17-7.
