* Kaufman & Broad Home Corp. sold a unit that builds affordable apartment communities for $85 million as it shifts assets to its home-building business. Closely held Simpson Housing Limited Partnership bought the unit, Kaufman & Broad Multi-Housing Group Inc., which was founded in 1994. Los Angeles-based Kaufman & Broad said in November it was considering selling the division.
