The Los Angeles County Public Works Department will begin repaving five miles of county roads next month, including Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky said Friday.
Paving will occur on Topanga between the ocean and Arteique Road, Latigo Canyon Road from Newton Canyon Road to west of Kanan Dume Road, Piuma Road from Saddle Peak Road to Schueren Road and Red Rock Road near Old Topanga Canyon Road.
Work will be performed under a $451,760 contract with Anaheim-based Sully-Miller Contracting Co. The company was chosen among three firms that offered bids as high as $615,192.
Repaving is expected to take 35 days between August and October and will be overseen by the Public Works Department.
In a separate development, Yaroslavsky announced county officials plan to renovate the Ulmus Drive sewage pump station in Calabasas to increase efficiency in delivering raw sewage over the mountains to a treatment plant.
That project is expected to take 90 days, beginning in November and ending in March.
