Pedestrian Hit by Car Dies From Wounds

A man crossing Saviers Road was hit by a car and later died from his wounds, authorities said.
About 9 p.m. Thursday, Nelson Moaalii, 41, of Oxnard crossed the 1300 block of Saviers Road, an area not marked by a crosswalk, authorities said. A 1978 Dodge Challenger traveling about 40 mph in a 45-mph zone struck Moaalii.
Moaalii was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where he was pronounced dead, coroner officials said.
The driver, Darren Moss, 35, also of Oxnard, was not injured, Oxnard police said. Moss was not cited.
