Two people have been arrested in the stabbing deaths of a Pico Rivera father and three children in their home last week, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said late Wednesday night.
Richard Flores, 42, and his children Richard, 17, Sylvia, 13, and Matthew, 10, were stabbed to death early Friday morning. Flores’ wife survived but remains hospitalized with stab wounds, and three other daughters in the house were unhurt.
Police were called to the Flores home after one of the daughters awoke, heard loud noises and discovered her wounded mother.
Deputies said Sheriff Lee Baca would discuss details of the arrest at a press conference today. The suspects, arrested at 9:30 p.m. reportedly are juveniles from Pico Rivera.
Pico Rivera Councilman Greg Salcido said of the arrests: “Sometimes it doesn’t come at the speed we would like, but it will help the community heal.”
