The Cypress supplier of universal remote control devices, chips and software technologies said net income for the second quarter increased 75% to a record $2.1 million, or 14 cents a share, from $1.2 million, or 8 cents a share, for the second quarter of 1999. Sales grew 24% to $28.3 million.
