Re “Congress Moves to Protect Social Security Numbers,” July 21; If you want to get a law passed, changed or repealed, get a congressman in trouble with it.
My Social Security card, issued in 1935, has imprinted on its face, “For Social Security purposes--not for identification.” All Washington has to do is see that the law that created that bit of prose is obeyed.
