The City Council has appointed Bill Meyer of Portola Hills to the five-member Parks and Recreation Commission.
Meyer was one of 25 applicants for the post, which has been vacant since Commissioner Dan Mayer resigned in February.
“It’s rewarding to give back to the community and meet a lot of people,” said Meyer, who was a volunteer in the Cityhood Now campaign and on the Sphere of Influence Community Task Force.
Seven of the applicants for the commission are residents of newly annexed Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills.
