Corn Maze Opening

Re “New Corn Maze Opens to Public,” July 2.
For years I have driven through the Sepulveda Dam Area always enjoying the quietude of Mother Nature. The park signs, the Japanese Garden, The Tilllman Water Reclamation Center, etc., are understated, in good taste and relevant.
A few weeks ago I was assaulted by ugly yellow and orange signs flopping in the breeze--advertising signs for a commercial “come-lose-yourself-in-the-corn” business. By what authority are these signs and other disgusting commercial paraphernalia--a giant slide and pony rides--being permitted in our public recreation center?
A few months ago, we discovered that some uninformed public official had wrongly allowed private businesses to hang advertising banners on the city electric light poles. Who sits in the back rooms of City Hall doling out these favors? Let’s get this “stuff” out of our park and return it to the green and gold that we have enjoyed for so many years.
