Test Results for Charter Schools
Test results published in The Times on Tuesday and Wednesday did not include the complete list of charter schools. The chart below provides scores for those schools as measured by the percentage of students at or above the 50th percentile, which is the national average. The change in scores is the percentage of students who moved up or down in the rankings since 1998. The last two columns show the average percentage of language arts questions answered correctly and the change from 1999’s average percentage. These items are designed to assess knowledge of California’s content standards.

Note that data for Los Angeles Unified’s Temescal Canyon Continuation 10th grade in Wednesday’s edition were the 11th-grade scores. The state suppressed 10th grade data because tests were taken by fewer than 10 students.
Scores are not available for John Francis Polytechnic High School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The test publisher said results will be provided in mid-August.
