LOS ANGELES — Gov. Gray Davis on Wednesday appointed two court commissioners--Jane L. Johnson and Diana M. Wheatley--to the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Johnson, 58, a commissioner in the Superior Court’s family law department since 1997, will fill the office vacated by Judge Ronald R. Schoenberg, who retired.
A graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s College and Loyola Law School, Johnson has chaired the executive committee of the county bar association’s litigation section. She was a schoolteacher before becoming a lawyer.
Wheatley, 51, a graduate of Stanford University and the University of California’s Boalt Hall Law School, is assuming the post vacated by the retirement of Judge Jaime Corrall.
A commissioner of the Municipal and Superior courts since 1984, she has served as commissioner representative of the Municipal Court’s executive committee. Before joining the courts, she was a litigation associate with the law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker.
