Nominations to fill two seats on next year’s City Council begin today and run through 5 p.m. Aug. 11.
Nomination papers must be signed by at least 20 residents who are registered to vote in the city and filed with the city clerk’s office at City Hall, 25201 Paseo de Alicia, Laguna Hills.
Candidates must also file a statement disclosing investments and interests in property and a candidate statement, which includes name, age and qualifications in 200 words or less. Candidates must pay about $750 at the time of filing to have the statement printed in the ballot materials mailed to voters before the Nov. 7 election.
