Recycling Firm to Increase Capacity

Silicon Recycling Services of Camarillo is set to receive a $1.6-million loan from the California Integrated Waste Management Board to more than double its annual recycling capacity, according to the Ventura County Solid Waste Management Department.
The loan, at 5.3% interest for 15 years, will bring an estimated 28 new jobs to Ventura County and will help the company broaden its role in the recycling of computer equipment--often into parts that make solar energy panels cheaper to produce, according to a press release from county waste officials. Silicon Recycling’s capacity will expand from 600 tons to 1,500 tons annually.
