Health Department Closes Markets

The following Ventura County restaurants and food service establishments were closed recently after unsanitary conditions were identified by county Environmental Health Division inspectors. Information is as of Friday: Ventura Shell, 1465 W. 5th St., Oxnard; no valid permit to operate; closed July 7 and reopened Monday.
Madera Ranch Market, 1494 Madera Road, Simi Valley; no valid permit to operate; closed July 5 and reopened July 6.

Restaurants are permitted to reopen once the problems cited are fixed. For questions or to report a complaint, call the Environmental Health Department at 654-2813 or (800) 660-5474, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
