Quartz Hill 6, Granada Hills Kennedy 5--Jeremy Garstka pitched two shutout innings to save Quartz Hill’s come-from-behind victory at Birmingham.
Quartz Hill scored three runs in the seventh with the bases loaded on a walk, hit batter and error to eliminate Granada Hills.
Garyd Casteel had a double and single for Quartz Hill.
Studio City Sylmar 16, Antelope Valley 14--Eric Johnson had five hits, including a home run, and two runs batted in, and Larry Anguino had a three-run home run and four RBIs for Studio City Sylmar (15-9) at Kennedy High.
Hector Chavez had four hits and three RBIs for Studio City Sylmar.
In a Division II second round game:
Canyon 11, Lancaster 6--Josh Lagrotta had four hits and two RBIs for Canyon (21-3) at Chatsworth High.
