Benefit Lunch to Assist Family of Late Deputy

A fund-raising luncheon for the family of Steve Parsons, the Orange County Sheriff’s deputy killed in the line of duty last month, will be Saturday at the Outback Steakhouse Restaurant in Laguna Hills.
The event is sponsored by the restaurant and the Assn. of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs. All proceeds from the $20-per-person event will go to Parsons’ widow, Kathy, and the couple’s 6- and 3-year-old children.
Parsons, 36, was mortally injured June 19 when a driver ran a red light and struck his motorcycle. He died June 24.
