The City Council this week approved plans to rebuild a portion of the Belgrave Storm Drain Channel, which connects to the Bolsa Chica Channel. The channel flooded in 1995, causing damage to 140 homes in Garden Grove. The city is partnering with the Orange County Flood Control District for the $5.6-million project, of which the city will pay $171,000. Construction is expected to begin this summer.
