Early this coming Sunday morning there is a partial eclipse of the moon. The moon begins to darken at about 4 a.m., but it is not until 5 a.m. that the darkening becomes pronounced. Unfortunately, the moon is very low in the west and the sky is already brightening with the approaching dawn. The eclipse ends at moonset at 5:56 a.m. Places west of California see the eclipse as total.
