Micro Therapeutics Expands Clinical Trials

Micro Therapeutics Inc. said Wednesday that it has expanded clinical trials of its Onyx Liquid Embolic system for the treatment of brain aneurysms to include a site in Turkey.
The Irvine medical device company said Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, has become the second site in the company’s European study. Micro Therapeutics plans to expand the trial to include 100 patients in eight European sites and expects to have all eight sites participating by year’s end.
The stock closed at $5.50, up 56 cents a share, in Nasdaq trading.
