The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, which is based in Lake Forest, has entered into an agreement with the county to provide education to youths cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Juveniles will be sent by the courts to the nonprofit organization to earn their driver’s license back. The 18-hour course includes lectures, films and slide shows taught by counselors certified by the county.
The group, which is one of four such licensed programs in Orange County, will present a public information meeting about how to prevent the problem at noon today at Saddleback College, 2800 Marguerite Parkway, Mission Viejo. Information: call (949) 770-2189.
