Second Lawyer for Drug Suspect Slain

A second attorney for a man accused of being a major drug trafficker was found shot to death five weeks after the suspect was ordered to stand trial on weapons charges. The Mexico state attorney general’s office confirmed that the bullet-riddled body of Eugenio Zafra Garcia was found outside his house in Toluca, the state capital west of Mexico City. Another attorney, Gustavo Galvez Reyes, was found slain after failing to win Jesus Labra Aviles’ release from house arrest following his arrest in Tijuana on March 11.
