Tobacco Funding Initiative

* Re “Burned in the Battle Over Tobacco Funds,” July 1.
Hooray, hooray, hooray for Venture County Clerk Richard Dean supporting the people’s right to vote on the tobacco funding initiative. I like his guts.
I do not agree with the way the Board of Supervisors has handled the decision to stop the initiative.
The actions of the supervisors appear to be dictatorial. I believe it is time to throw the whole lot of supervisors out of office, especially Frank Schillo.
Do we have term limits for supervisors? If not, then we ought to vote term limits into law. As the old saying goes, “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
Supervisors and the courts, get out of the way and let the people hear both sides of the debate and then vote fairly.
