Sites for ‘Dignified’ Flag Disposal Offered

Flag disposal is available for faded, dirty or unused United States, California, POW/MIA or corporate flags at several locations in the Conejo Valley.
Flags may be dropped off at the following Ventura County locations during normal business hours for a respectful disposal by fire:
* Photography by Forrest, 1414 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., No. 218, Thousand Oaks.
* Pierce Bros., Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.
* Tom’s Camera & Video, 1014 S. Westlake Blvd., No. 6, Westlake Village.
* Thousand Oaks Photo, 587-G Ventu Park Road, Newbury Park.
* Mail Call Postal Center, 587-F Ventu Park Road, Newbury Park.
“The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning,” according to federal codes.
