Just days into its work on the Imperial Highway widening project, the city has received a complaint from a resident claiming Yorba Linda is violating its own construction codes.
Mark Abramowitz, who helped spearhead a failed ballot measure and subsequent lawsuit against the widening project, said the city is breaking its own ordinances by working nights and early mornings on the project. He said this week that the city is not keeping promises made in its environmental impact report for the widening plan.
City officials said they have not violated any code or ordinance. Re-striping and reorganizing traffic cannot be categorized as construction activity, said Public Works Director Roy Stephenson.
