The City Council voted Wednesday to uphold the Planning Commission’s approval of a 40-foot antenna at the Imperial-Rose shopping center.
Margaret McGinnis, a neighbor, appealed Nextel Communications’ plans for the antenna, saying she feared its radiation emissions would endanger the health of those using the shopping center. The antenna, as approved, will be disguised to look like a palm tree.
Council members denied her appeal 3 to 2.
