The San Juan Task Force and the San Juan Rotary Club recently collected more than 1,700 books for children who cannot afford them.
Most of the books were donated to San Juan Accelerated School and Marco Forster Middle School. Books for adults were donated to the Friends of the Library in San Juan Capistrano.
Crown Books, Natale Coffee and Starbucks in Dana Point collectively donated more than 400 books to win a friendly competition among local businesses.
