In “The Show Goes On, a Portfolio of Theatre Songs,” Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, creators of “The Fantasticks,” which just celebrated its 40th year in New York, headline in the West Coast premiere of the musical revue of their work. The show features “Try to Remember,” “My Cup Runneth Over” and many other standards from the team’s career.

“Harold and Maude,” Colin Higgins’ adaptation of his 1971 cult film about a melancholy young man obsessed with funerals and an 80-year-old free spirit, opens at Theatricum Botanicum. Ellen Geer, who had a memorable impact as one of Harold’s computer dates in the film, plays Maude.
