A man suspected of shooting three men outside a bar in Orange early Saturday has been apprehended in Los Angeles, police said.
After the suspect’s vehicle was found in Hollywood on Sunday, Orange police detectives canvassed the area and saw the suspect, Charles Lynwood Cherry, 34, of Orange, leaving a motel. After a short standoff, Cherry, who police said was armed with a handgun at the time of his arrest, was booked at Orange County Jail on suspicion of three counts of attempted murder.
Police said Cherry walked up to a group of six men outside the Locker Room Bar at 2:26 a.m. Saturday and, without warning, shot three of them with a small-caliber handgun. He also might have had a rifle, they said.
The three men were taken to local hospitals for wounds to the arms, legs and hands. Two of the victims remain hospitalized in serious condition.
