Pay for state jurors will jump $10 per day this month to $15, the first increase since 1957.
The new pay scale went into effect with the passage of the state budget Saturday. Jurors will be entitled to $15 per day starting with the second day of service. The $5 pay scale was the lowest in the nation.
“I am pleased that the governor endorsed the pay increase because it is another step to improving jury service and encouraging more citizens to fulfill their civic duty,” said Orange County Superior Court Presiding Judge C. Robert Jameson.
