The summer is off to a sizzling start as nearly 100 area children joined Afternoon Live, the free summer reading club at the Hunt Branch Library. Members receive weekly prizes and chances to win tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm, Raging Waters and Wild Rivers.
Children who have completed kindergarten may attend Afternoon Live at 2 p.m. Wednesdays or Thursdays.
This week’s program is called “Ships & Sails & Ocean Tales.” Afternoon Live features book-related activities, science experiments and crafts.
