Moorpark’s Durr Quits Football Team

Kenny Durr, the second-leading rusher for Moorpark College this season, has left the team, Coach Jim Bittner said Thursday.
Durr rushed for 381 yards on 64 carries and 3 touchdowns, including an 85-yard scoring run against Ventura. Moorpark is 5-1.
The 5-9, 170-pound sophomore turned in his gear after rushing for 24 yards--he fumbled once--in Moorpark’s 42-28 win over Santa Barbara last Saturday. Bittner said he has not heard from Durr since.
“It was a surprise to me when he turned in his gear and I really didn’t take it seriously,” Bittner said. “I sort of thought it was just disappointment from the game. A lot of times people rethink things.”
Durr could not be reached for comment.
