PLAYHOUSE MAY LEASE OFFICE

The Laguna Moulton Playhouse may lease new rehearsal, storage and classroom space in Laguna Beach instead of going ahead with its plan to build a $1-million annex next to its theater on Laguna Canyon Road, artistic director Douglas Rowe said Thursday.
Rowe said the theater is negotiating with General Telephone Co. to lease a three-story, 17,000-square-foot office at 408 Mermaid St.
Figures were not disclosed. If the talks are successful, the playhouse could move into the space by spring, he said.
