Authorities investigating a nightclub brawl in Gainesville, Fla., that left a University of Florida football player with a broken jaw and a cut foot said several off-duty Miami police officers and at least one Gainesville officer became involved in the Saturday night melee.
Rhondy Weston, a starting defensive tackle from Belle Glade, Fla., was released from Shands Hospital Tuesday. The status of the 6-foot 5-inch, 255-pound junior for Florida’s next game--Oct. 31 at Auburn--was uncertain.
