A state parking lot in downtown Los Angeles was closed after cracks were found around bolts supporting concrete panels similar to the 2 1/2-ton panel that shook loose and crushed a California State University, Los Angeles, student during the Oct. 1 earthquake, a state official said Wednesday.
The 918-car lot on Broadway near 2nd Street, which serves the State Office Building, was closed Friday, Anthony Pescetti, deputy to the state architect, said in a telephone interview from Sacramento Wednesday.
