Posted Signs

When I was a kid growing up I remember signs tacked to sides of buildings, telephone poles, etc., that stated, “Post No Bills.” Isn’t that law or a similar one still around? I am so sick and tired of seeing signs like, “Garage Sale,” “House for Sale,” “Lost Dog.”
What can be done to stop this? Frankly, I have stopped my car to tear them down and thrown them in trash cans! Why don’t these people rent a store if they want to go into business?
