POP/ROCK - Oct. 22, 1987

Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

With Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and even Charlie Watts turning out their own albums these days, what’s a Rolling Stones second guitarist to do? Well, how about hooking up with a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer whose syncopated signature beat fueled all sorts of ‘60s Brit bands, including the Stones? Ron Wood and Bo Diddley will join forces for the “Gunslingers Tour ‘87”--a concert swing of small U.S. clubs that commences Nov. 4. There’s no L.A. date booked at the moment, but Wood is due at Book Soup on the Sunset Strip Dec. 12 to autograph copies of a new book of his original art. And you can get a dose of Diddley Oct. 29 at the Music Machine.
