A crackdown on criminal gangs from Jamaica resulted in 124 arrests, including five in Southern California. Stephen E. Higgins, director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, said in Washington that the raids took place over two days in 13 states and the District of Columbia. Los Angeles-based Immigration and Naturalization Service agents arrested five Jamaicans in Inglewood and seized a small quantity of illegal drugs, said Mike Flynn, a senior special agent. Flynn said that Jamaican drug traffickers are among the most violent, and may be the source of 60% of the crack cocaine supply in the United States.
