The trial of political extremist Lyndon H. LaRouche Jr. was delayed until after the trial of a former Ku Klux Klan leader charged with helping LaRouche to stymie a 1984 presidential campaign fraud investigation. The trial of the ex-klansman, Roy Frankhauser, is to begin today or Thursday, and an assistant U.S. attorney said that immediately afterward he is to be given immunity and called as a witness in the trial of LaRouche, six more aides and five of his political organizations allegedly involved in a multimillion-dollar credit card and loan fraud that the government claims LaRouche used to finance his 1984 campaign. Frankhauser had been hired by LaRouche as a security consultant and allegedly has confessed to helping cover up the scheme.
