Capistrano Remains Atop Poll; Bolsa Grande Moves Up to No. 2

Capistrano Valley High School remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll, and Bolsa Grande jumped from fifth to second this week.
Bolsa Grande has the longest winning streak (15 games) in the Southern Section and has scored 177 points in its last four games. The Matadors’ last loss was a 33-10 setback to Valencia in the fifth week of the 1986 season.
Western (5-1) makes its first appearance in the poll at No. 10 after a 24-10 victory over Valencia.
