United Airlines wants CBS, NBC and ABC to yank a Continental Airlines commercial off the air, alleging it is “fraudulent and misleading,” Associated Press reported Monday. The ad boasts that many airlines contract with Continental for airplane maintenance work. United and American Airlines (also mentioned in the ad) say they have done far more work on Continental’s planes than Continental has done on theirs. A Continental spokesman claims United and American are trying to use their clout as heavy network advertisers to kill the Continental commercial.
