Two Arabs from the Israeli-occupied West Bank were convicted in a military court of last year’s murder of a moderate Palestinian mayor, an army spokesman said. Muad Abdel Samad and Ahmed Hanina were convicted of killing Zafer Masri, the Israeli-appointed mayor of the West Bank city of Nablus. The two defendants, both from a village near Nablus, confessed to the crime, the army spokesman said. He said they are members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a radical Palestinian group.
