Police were searching Saturday for a reputed gang member who detectives believe may be connected to the killing of a Van Nuys man found dead in an alley, Los Angeles police said.
Jorge Rafael Cuevas, 30, was shot about 7:45 p.m. Friday in an alley near Cedros Avenue and Delano Street in Van Nuys, Detective Ernie Guzman said.
Guzman said police are seeking Ambrosio Villagrana, 25, for questioning about the killing. Detectives believe Cuevas and Villagrana may have belonged to the same gang and may have harbored ill will toward one another, he said.
No gun was found at the scene. Guzman described Villagrana as armed and dangerous.
