Rhetoric Heats Up Over Judge Bork

If the statements made by Bork and Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) about protecting the independence of the judiciary had been made last year when the Republican right was dismantling the California Supreme Court, they might have had some credibility.

As it is their statements suggest that they are capable of levels of cynicism and hypocrisy almost unbelievable in their support of Reagan’s attempt to make permanent his right-wing agenda of increased power to the special interests of big business, wealth and privilege.
